The door lock on a front loading stackable Whirlpool washer will not release. The model number is inside the door as well as the screws for the door release. I have ran it through every cycle but lock still engaged.
Any ideas how to release the door lock? I will need the model number to order parts.
The schematic is under the top. I could induce voltage across the thyristor on the DSS (BP-1 to BP-3, red and black wires) but I don't know what voltage. I assume it is 240V but would not like to take out the control board. Would shorting the switch on the DSS (BP-2 to DP-3, brown to red wire) cause it to operate? I also can't tell from the schematic what sensors tells the control unit that it is okay to open.
I assume the problem is either the DSS, Control unit, or water sensor. Help!

If you can tell us at least if this is a Duet or some other trade name we may be able to help you unlock the door. See if there is a lower service panel, and if so, take it off and reach up inside to see if there is a tab you can pull to unlock it.
In the meantime, don't do anything. Your washer section of the unit operates on 120 volts, but messing with it can blow the control board.
