Hi,

RE: double wall gas oven

Our lower oven is not working- upper is.

Ignitor has power going to it, but no power in the wires going up "inside" the oven on the right hand side.

Could this be the relay?

Thanks

KT,

Based on your post information, you most likely, don't have a problem with the relay board, or control module. Unless you tested the circuit incorrectly.

You would not have voltage at either burner igniter, if you had a bad relay board or control module.
(the K1 BK and K2 BR relays on the board have to close, in order to send voltage to the igniter).

You may want to re check the voltage at the igniter(s) before we go off in the wrong direction.

KT,

OK, then,

You've either got a broken wire to the bake igniter from the K1 relay on the board, or a bad K1 relay,

Now you need to access the relay board, behind the control panel,on the left side wall of the assembly,

Find the purple wire attached to the terminal labelled E3 in the area of the K1 relay, disconnect the purple wire, program a bake cycle in the lower oven, and check for 120 VAC from the E3 terminal on the relay board to chassis ground, No voltage = bad relay, replace relay board assembly.
If you have the voltage = broken wire from board to igniter.

:) :) :)

No voltage on E3. Suspect the relay board.
Also the upper oven is getting slow to start, requireing long heating time . Longer than 40 - 60 sec. Closer to 120 sec.

Gismo,

Great job,

Based on your post,

I'd reccomend you replace the relay board and the broil burner igniter,

Part number: AP4280300
Part number: AP4280300

Part number: AP4041749
Part number: AP4041749

Good Luck,

The lower broiler is working , why should I replays the broil burner ignitor?
You did not comment on the long igniting time for the upper oven.

Gismo,

I apologize, lost track of myself.

Replace the igniter in the upper oven.

It's taking too long to get to the proper amperage draw, indicating it's getting weak. Of course you can wait until it fails, just thought you may want to replace it now.

I do not recognize the relay board AP 4280300.
Our relay board has no transformer or coil.
Could it be AP4282071?

Gismo,
Yes, it could be based on the information and description.

The only way I can be positive is to have the complete model number and the "P" number from the serial plate on the unit.

I used a general wiring diagram, and the basic parts manual to advise you.

We'll be happy to varify the parts needed for you, if you'd like.
