I installed two new hinges on my oven door. Now the door will not remain open when it is wide open like it did with the old hinges, instead it now just snaps back shut; so you have to physically hold the door open to use the oven.

The new springs are tighter, over time the door should stay open just like the old ones did.

I appreciate your responding to my concern about the hinges so quickly. I'm a little nervous because when we purchased the oven new the door stayed open and hinge springs didn't need to be exercised before they worked properly. Have you had actual experience where the hinges had to be exercised before the oven door would remain open?

Whirlpool is making these a little heavier now, so hopefully they won't mess up again until you're ready to replace the range.
