i have a roper electric dryer, it runs but it isn't getting hot and the timer does not move so it just continues to run until i open the door or turn it off myself. hope it's not the heating element! :confused:

You will need a multi-meter to test this. First check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. If so check the heater and the thermal fuses for continuity. If one is open then that will be your problem. Let me know what you find out.
