Dryer motor rotates drum. Heat is not initiated. Have checked continuity of hi-limit thermostat, valve coils, thermal fuses, and igniter - all positive. I have removed gas valve assembly and confirmed clean input and output ports. I do not get continuity on cycling thermostat between purple and orange leads. Please confirm that I should be able to get continuity between these contacts. Any advice on what might be the problem would be appreciated. I have broken the igniter coil assy while removing the gas valve assembly so I am replacing that. Thank you for any help you can give.

Your cycling thermostat is most likely the culprit it should have continuity!

If looking at the cycling thermostat, and it is a 4 wire thermostat, the terminal at 3 oclock and at 9 oclock will not have continuity. That's normal. You never did mention the flame sensor. If the ignitor does not come on and the high limit thermostat is good, You either have a bad flame sensor or a bad ignitor. You can jump out the flame sensor if you like, and see if it works.
