Put In new Bake element (old one broke and burnt out) first heat cycle it took 40mins to pre heat to 400 turned off oven for a few hours tried again at 350 took 40 min again any suggestions.

Does the broil element work properly ?

You may have a damaged or shorted wire in the cabinet back wall wiring harness.

Do you have a multi meter, so you can check to see if you have 220 VAC. across the element terminals in a bake cycle ?

That's where I'd look or test first.
