Yes it can.
If so can the motor be replaced and is it worth spending the money to fix it?
What would it cost with shipping to ship to Bridgewater, Ma 02324
Whether it is worth it or not depends on what shape the dryer is in.
See the parts breakdown and then give AppliancePartsPros a call.
It looks like a replacement motor may not be available for this unit.
I do not work for them so do not have the above info.
Check to see if you can get a motor. if not then you will need to buy a new unit.
If yes, then I would open the unit up and check all moving parts, the front glides, the belt, seals etc. for wear and bearing slop. Odds are good that you may need additional parts so the cost may be higher than just a motor.
You might as well do an overhaul while you have it opened up.
Also remove the motor from the unit before ordering one. Many units use a screw on blower wheel which often seizes onto the motor shaft and has to be broken to remove the motor. So you may also have to order a blower wheel increasing your costs.
Before any of the above I would check that the drum rotates fairly easily.
You may want to try this on a couple other units to get a feel for it.
Also try rotating it with some downward pressure on the drum. Perhaps you will get lucky and only the front glides have to be replaced (too much drag on the motor). Though usually you will hear metal on metal when they go.
