what causes strip between freezer door and refrig. door to get hot?

If the condenser motor is bad in the back, until you get a new one, pull the refrigerator away from the wall, and put a small fan or even a box fan, in front of the compressor to keep it cool, you will be alright till you get a new one. If it has that plastic fan motor, you don't have to put that back in. They make a kit, that has the old style metal motor, that never went out, and a new blade. It goes in real easy.
