Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 9/20/2010(UTC) Posts: 1		My dryer is only heating in the low[delicate] setting, whether it is on low or high. Is it likely the switch itself is bad, or the heating element is only working at 1/2 capacity, or other ideas? Any help, thanks.

Probably the element has broken and is grounding out on the chassis giving you only a little bit of heat. Not enough of a short to blow the breaker. Another common one is a metal bra wire has worked its way through the holes of the drum and gets caught on the element shorting half of it out causing the same symptom.

Unplu the unit and one side of the switch and check that it opens/closes with a meter.
