Hi, The fresh food section was getting warmer and freezer was cool. So I thought the air circulation is not working. Cool air from freezer is not going to fresh food section. Also I saw freezer fan not rotating.
I opened the freezer back panel to check the fan. I saw the evaporator coil was clean with no frost. I closed the panel and set temperature to 5 (coldest). Next day I saw things started cooling and the fan in the freezer throwing air. Air circulation was normal.
The cooling lasted two days and again fresh food section was warm. I opened the back panel again thinking that defrost is not happening. But again I saw evaporator coil is clean with some frost. So I used air dryer and set cool air on the coil. Also I set temp to 5 (coldest).
Now I do not see anything cooling also the fan is not rotating.
Please let me know what could be the issue.

Feel your compressor to see if it's very hot and running. Nat

Nat, Yes. Compressor was somewhat hot but not running.
Later I manually moved the defrost timer to start cooling cycle. After doing this the compressor started running and Freezer started cooling. But the freezer fan did not start at all.
So I think I need to change the fan motor. Also should I replace the defrost timer since freezer stops cooling and does not go to cooling cycle ?

The defrost timer may be "stuck" not allowing the comprssor to kick back on. Nat
