whirlpool dishwasher model GU980SCGB0 won't drain or fill. After you've pushed the buttons , it waits that amount of time that it would fill , then starts the wash cycle or drain. but it didn't really fill and doesn't drain (the water the still in the bottom)

Hi
Bail the water out with a cup and a sponge, then try again.
Keep an eye on it because if its blocked up in the sensor pots it may over fill and flood.

Check your pump for any obstructions. If none found test the water valve. Post your results

dishwasher will not fill it heats but no water

That's probably your inlet valve. If you need the part number post your model number.
