The freezer clicks on, there is a loud hum and then it clicks off. The freezer is not freezing anything and the fridge is now warm. Fan is working, and I have moved the temp gauge from very cold to mid cold. Still nothing. Coils in back are clean. I don't think it's a leak in the system because yesterday it was freezing just fine. This all just started overnight. Could it be the compressor??

The compressor is not starting, and tripping the overload. Most likely cause is the ptc relay on the compressor. The easiest way to check is to remove the relay from the compressor, and shake it, if it rattles you need a new relay.

Thanks so much. Yep, it rattled. Got the parts to replace it and boom, everything is working great. Thanks again!
