washer will not spin after wash or rinse cycle without lifting door and closing it or pushing in control knob to stop it and then pulling it out

If you have given an ACCURATE description of what is going on, You have a bad timer!!! After the agitation cycle(for both wash&rinse) the washer SHOULD pump out,PAUSE!!!!, Then restart and spin!!! If it does not PAUSE, the TIMER is bad!!!!! If it pauses, and dosent start to spin apon restarting then the TRANSMISSION is bad.
