Initially, my bake element's (Part number: 316413800) connection broke and my oven control board (Part number: 316418750) becomes defective after I did an oven self cleaning. So, I replaced them. After the replacement, the stove is throwing the F501 error if I turn on any the stove heating element. The F501 error points to the power board or the user interface board but not to the oven control board that I just replaced...which is really weird. So, I put back the old broken oven control board and the stove elements started working fine and the oven did not work, as expected. I did this swapping a couple of times and the result is consistent so I got really perplexed.

Initially I really thought I was sent a defective oven control board, but after some reserach on the web, I found out that Frigidaire, the company that makes the Kenmore elite range seems to have "upgraded" all of their electronic boards and they have an upgrade kit that replaces the oven control board, the user interface board and the power board as a package. If you only replace one of these boards, you will get into trouble. How could they do such an evil thing??!!

Please help me think of some solution:
1. Will I be able to find the old oven control board?
2. The whole upgrade package seems really expensive and my warranty is over. Actually, where can I purchase the upgrade package even if I wanted to?
3. Is there another solution to this problem?

Where did you find the part number 316418750 for the control board?

This part number is wrong.

The right Frigidaire part number for the control board in accordance with the model number you've provided is 5304455004, which is APP item number AP3890255

Happy Holidays!

Hmm...I found the part number from the range parts list that comes together with the range user manual so it shouldn't be wrong...

Possible misprint.

If you do not believe me, call the Sears.

Hey I went to the Sears parts website and entered the model number and it is really like you said. I suspect that my parts list is not a misprint, but that Sears subsequently updated their online parts list to reflect the latest changes from the manufacturer (They probably updated all the part numbers that starts with 5). Now I learned not trust my parts list but look up at Sears website...thanks! You've been a great help!

Hi Gene,

I just remembered that I should get back to you on this...:)

2 weeks ago, the parts for the oven control board finally arrived. When it arrived, I finally understood why it is called a kit. It has all the 3 boards of the oven! So, the kit contains the oven control board, the user interface board and the power board, and it sounds like an amazing deal for about $200...:p
(It does indeed look like Frigidaire upgraded the boards and so you have to replace all 3 of anyone of them brokeā€¦)

After swapping all these 3 boards, my oven is working perfectly now...

Your advice saved me a lot of trouble, thanks again!

Regards,
paulgoh

I also have a Kenmore Elite with an F-13 error that comes up when I try to use the broil on the oven. I looked at the top of the Electronic Oven Control unit and it has the 316418750 part number on it. It also has SF5521-s8750C Rev g ES 565 on it.
