Model Number: 970.69828a Brand: Kenmore Age: 1 - 5 years
I am getting an F-13 Error message when I attempt to use the broil setting on my Kenmore Elite range. I have shut off the breaker, waited and reapplied the power to reset the computer. I can use the convection, the bake, the pre heat with no problems. However, as soon as I try to use the broil, I get the F13 error.
Model # 970.69828a Serial # vf63150849 Other sites suggest a problem with the EOC. But, it seems to me that if the EOC was on the blink, everything would fail wouldn't it? Is there a particular relay on the EOC that is faulty? How about a part number for the EOC? Any vendors in Canada? Ads By Google Related Models |

The "F13" error code means "Bad EEPROM Identification/Checksum error" and correction suggested by Frigidaire is to replace EOC.
EOC is very sophisticated electronic device and relays are just a very small part of it. Frigidaire part number 316418750, which you posted in your another post is Appliance Parts Pros part number AP3790829. You have to talk to their team to figure out if they ship parts to Canada. Gene.

Thanks for your reply on this. Since my original posting, I have done a bit more research. I have found the internet site for just the EOC and for the EOC kit that has the two other user boards. For the extra 30 dollars, a person is probably better off getting the kit. However, in some forums, I found some comments where a person changed all three pieces and still had problems. Seems to me, if these come in a set, and you replace all three pieces, shouldn't it have to work? I can understand if you only replace the EOC and your UIB doesn't match but, replacing all the pieces and still having an issue would really be discouraging. I know there are different revisions on the EOC's which could cause problems when you mix and match which is why I am contemplating spending the extra 30 dollars to get the whole set.
I really find it strange that only the broil does not work though. All other oven functions work. Have you ever experienced an issue with replacing all three pieces in the EOC kit and it still not work? The kit part number is 5304455004. And thank you for responding. |
