Same issue, bought in 2018. the new lid is over $300 from maytag and minimum service charge for a technician to come out is $150. $450 is half of the cost to replace the whole washer. I have a "commercial technology" top load washer, model MVWB765FW2.

Yep... Same issues here with the hinge. Has anybody had any progress dealing with Maytag on a good fix for this other than to keep buying a new lid with the same problems? Please let me know sseeleyenv@gmail.com thanks.

Same with mine . Purchased last year and a few months after I noticed the metal hinge had broken the plastic frame. had to hold lid down until it wood lock. Just spent $300. on one . does any one know any adjustments I can do to take a little bit of tension off the hinge when I put the new glass lid on to avoid this from happening again? MayTag should do something to change this design sooner rather than later!

I am having the same problem for the second time. Bought the washer in 11/2019, about 18 months old and lid cracked. Installed a new lid, about 18 months old and it is now cracking at the left side hinge. NEVER buy a Maytag appliance!

Im having the same issue, left hinge broke I have the American Shield home insurance and I called, the did a visit to see if it's covered under the warranty, they told me that I broke it from the use, it's a 2 year washer, great for our family, why would I brake it??!! They did not repair it but did charge for the visit. If anyone knows how to repair it please let me know how.
