Less than two year old top load Maytag Washer Lid Hinge broken

Im having the same issue, left hinge broke I have the American Shield home insurance and I called, the did a visit to see if it's covered under the warranty, they told me that I broke it from the use, it's a 2 year washer, great for our family, why would I brake it??!! They did not repair it but did charge for the visit. If anyone knows how to repair it please let me know how.

I have the same problem. My washer is about 21 months old. Repair is over $500.

Bought it March 2019, almost 3 years to the date….left hinge cracked preventing it from locking unless I push the top down and wait for it to lock. Occasionally, I get an F5 error code. When the wash cycle is over, it beeps until I touch the lid and then it unlocks and turns off. Apparently this is an issue with these machines. Plastic is being held together by waterproof tape. Right side is starting to crack.

My Maytag washer top loading had the left hinge lid crumble twice ! I like the Maytag washer however , I’m upset the hinge fails. Maytag replaced the lid for the first failure ; I’m on hold for the second failure .

Same problem. Bought a new lid for $300. Installed it and it cracked in same spot after one use
