We didn't turn it off, because each of us noticed it running at different times and thought someone else reset the timer. Now the dryer is not getting any heat, but it spins. The lint trap is also clean. Any ideas how to fix this?

It is a regular gas dryer. If the dryer ran overnight nonstop, most likely the timer failed and would need to be replaced. The timer Part number: AP6016538
