I have a Maytag dishwasher MDBH965AWW about 10 years old. When I press the start/cancel button the machines sounds like it is filling with water and it puts 81 minutes on the digital display. When the display reads 80 minutes the filling process sounds like it stops. The machine then shuts off. It seems like the only thing that will make it work is for me to hit the start/cancel button two times at which time the display puts up 2 minutes and it sounds like the machine is starting wash cycle. If i let that run it gets to 1 minute and shuts off. If I press the start cancel immediately when the 2 minutes comes up the 81 minutes comes up again but nothing happens. In the past sometimes this may take 3 - 4 attempts before the dishwasher will actually work but in last few days I can't get it to run through a complete cycle. I've tried turning off the breaker for short periods and long periods and still have issue. The door latch fell apart a few months ago and replaced that and everything worked fine and then this started about a month later.
