My dryer runs but is not heating. Here's what happened.
Top of dryer was rusting so I unplugged it to work on it and there was a big spark. The breakers were not tripped. But after plugging the dryer back in it would run but not heat. Last time that happened it was a blown hi-limit thermostat, I pulled off the back and checked the hi-limit thermostat, the thermal fuse, the operating thermostat, the thermal cutoff fuse and the heater coils. All showed continuity.
So what else should I check?
Thanks, Steve

The problem turned out to be a burnt out connection in the outlet. New outlet and everything works great.
