I have a Kenmore side by side refrigerator Model # 253 51392104. The ice maker would not make any ice. All the mechanical parts work like they should. At this time the water filter was leaking. I changed the filter and no more leaks. The ice maker started working and filled the ice storage bin one time and now it is back to not filling the ice tray with water when it should. You can hear the solenoid actuate when it should, but no water and the fill tube is not frozen. I guess I should replace the solenoid water valve. Also, it would not crush the ice when the crushed ice button was depressed. I replaced the solenoid assy # 241675704. It worked for about 10 times and then stopped working again. Replace the solenoid again? That could get expensive. I purchased this solenoid from you. Also, the mechanism that switches from cubed to crushed ice operates freely.
Thanks, Dennis

I'd bet that the water tube coming into the freezer is frozen up. I used to see that a lot. The ice maker is still turning the water solenoid on and I'll bet if you pulled the tube where in goes into the 45? degree elbow, water would shoot out the next time the IM filled. If you pull it to clean it look, for hard water deposits. I've seen hard water build up in them before. part 241796405 ![UserPostedImage](http://www.rcappliancepartsimages.com/dbImages/i/00005803/Fill-Tube-241796405-01845589.jpg)
