Have an upright kenmore freezer and it is not sealing. Its about 2 1/2 years old and it normally releases suction sound when the door is shut. At times it will not seal. Just the slightest touch will open the door. Ive checked the weight of items on the door and the seal is still in good shape. There are water droplets on the top and very fine ice crystals on the top. Not sure what to do. This is an on again off again issue.

A model number may be helpful.
On many units there are plastic cams on the lower door hinge. When closed the door is on the down side of the cam. This keeps the door closed. Perhaps one or both of the cams is broken.
Also check the hinge side of the seal. Sometimes they can grab and twist when the door closes this can cause a poor seal. A light coating of white lithium grease or vaseline usually solves this problem. |

The cams help but the magnetic strips in the gasket are what keep the door sealed on most models.
See if the door closes if you take everything out of the freezer invluding shelves. We get calls all the time for domething touching the door on the indide. It can be deceptively hard to figure out lol
