What has been happening is that at various times, I find water collecting on the floor in the front of my refrigerator. If you are in the kitchen and notice it, you can actually see the water moving. Lately we have been putting a towel on the floor to absorb the water if no one is around. This refrigerator has the freezer unit in a pull out drawer on the bottom of the refrigerator. The three items I can think of is ice maker, water dispenser or defrost issues and not draining. I'm guessing the last issue. I don't know where to look for where the water drains from and to. Any advice where to look would be appreciated.

Here are your parts Parts for KitchenAid KFIS27CXWH0 Refrigerator - AppliancePartsPros.comFirst I would determine if it is from the ice maker/water dispenser or defrost water. Probably the best way to do this is to shut off the water supply. Then if the leak stops you know that the problem is with that part of the unit. If you still have a leak problem then it is with the defrost drain. OR You could just check the drain to be sure you have the new type of drain. See Item 33 in Section 01, click on it for more info about this kit. |

They also stated on the video, that a symptom of a drain tube problem is ice forming on the floor of the lower freezer unit and there was an 1/8 inch skin of ice on the freezer floor. I'm ordering the part as soon as I get this sent. I'll respond on how the repair goes. Bruce

Bruce YOU MAY HAVE A CLOGGED EVAPORATOR DRAIN PAN. DID YOU CHECK IF THE BOTTOM OF YOU FREEZER IS ICED UP ALL AROUND ACROSS?

Got the new part and repair went fine. Cleaned out the ice on the bottom of the lower freezer compartment and tried to clean out the obstruction (ice) in the drain. Don't think I succeeded, because I have ice in the bottom on the freezer compartment again. I really don't want to tear apart the inside of the refrigerator compartment to get to the condenser unit/drain plug. Can I remove the food and put them a large cooler and put the frozen items outside since its below freezing and leave the refrigerator unglugged for 24 hours with the doors open and let the ice defrost on its own. For me that would be the easiest and also a good time to clean the refrigerator really good.

you have no choice but to open up the inside back panel so u could get to the evaporator coil. don't be afraid, it's very simple, just be careful and remember where the parts go. once it's open you need to blow dry the drain below the evap coil with hair dryer but be careful coz you dont want to melt the plastic. in the bottom center you should have a hole that drains the water outside to the drain pan behind the fridge. if you look there maybe a rubber that points down to the pan, u might need to replace that.
