I had a tech look at the machine and he thought the water pressure switch's diaphram was bad even thought the ohm meter showed it to be good. I purchased a new one and it still overfills does the exact same for whichever setting I select. It's more than should be in the tub. Very close to spilling over. I'm able to blow into the hose and it does not sound clogged.
Did I see somewhere that the hose could have a pin hole in it to prevent the switch from sensing it to be at the proper level?

Yes, the hose could have a pin hole leak, so go ahead and replace it. A new hose and your new pressure switch should fix this, but check the wiring between the switch and the timer and the connections also.

thank you for the info.

I've seen the video for a Whirlpool hose replacement. Is it the same way to replace the Maytag washer?

Probably, once the cabinet is open you just disconnect the tubing between the switch and the drum and put the new one on.
