I have an LG LRFD25850ST 3 door bottom freezer. I am getting a line of frost build up about 3" wide, across the width of the back wall of the freezer compartment. Have recently cleaned the coils and compressor area, and the fan is in good working order. What would cause this kind of frost buildup on the inside of the freezer. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you, Mrthorne

Here are your parts Parts for LG LRFD25850ST / ASTCLGA Refrigerator - AppliancePartsPros.comHere is a link to a manual. You will have to join the site and be logged in to be able to download the manual. http://appliancejunk.com...wnloads;sa=view;down=335I am assuming that the evaporator/freezer fan is running OK. Are there any other problems with the unit re: high temperatures in the fresh food and the freezer sections? The freezer should be between 0 and 5 degrees F. Check that is not lower than 5 degrees. The fresh food should be around 38 to 40 degrees F. You have to find out if this is just a condensation problem or is it a defrost problem. A defrost problem often raises the temperature in the fresh food section first and then later it will also rise in the freezer. Also the compressor will run all the time or most of the time other than when the unit goes through a defrost cycle. So if the compressor is cycling normally and your temperatures are OK it could be just a condensation problem. If not. You will have to remove the rear cover in the freezer so you can check the evaporator coils. If they are heavily iced/frosted over then you have a defrost problem. If it is just condensation then I would check the door seals. Take a 2 inch wide piece of paper and place it between the door seal and frame. Then pull it out to check the seal. Do this every 6 inches or so around all 3 doors. |
