Heavy frost builds up on top of chute where ice is dispensed from the ice cube receptacle. The entire area opening where the auger works the ice into the chute is so built up with frost it is hard to get the freezer door open. Frost also builds up on the front part of ice receptacle. Any suggestions as to what is causing problem.

Hello SpeedyG. Check and see if the flap is broke on the dispenser. If not, you will need to check and see if the solenoid is holding the flap open. If so, you will need to replace the solenoid. You will need to unsnap the dispenser cover from the dispenser to access these parts and check them. Hope this helps. Part number: AP3963333

Jeff/APP Team:
I was able to pry off the cover and replace the flapper. The solenoid was kind of rusty but I didn't replace it. I still have another problem. Although all of the lights function, i.e. water, crushed ice, cubed ice etc. I get water dispensed intermittingly, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Also when I have it set for cubes I get crushed with some cubes mixed in. Is the indication of a bad selonoid or if not what else?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
SpeedyG

With the dispenser front off the machine, check and make sure all the connections are good inside there. Also make sure the switch is working properly and is making good contact with the lever. Also make sure water line is not frozen. Hope this helps.
