I have a Maytag Double Oven with 2 issues. The bottom oven won't heat past 200* and the display panel has gotten so dim you can't see any numbers on it. We had the panel replaced a few years ago and it worked for a while, then started dimming again. Any ideas for either problem?

Here are your parts Parts for Maytag MEW6630BAB Wall Oven - AppliancePartsPros.comOn the heating problem. Does the unit stay in preheat? If not (shows it is ready) it could be an oven sensor problem. If it stays in preheat then it could be a bad element (most units switch between the bake and broil elements in preheat and bake modes). Check them with a meter. Be sure to unplug the stove when working on it. In most units one side of the elements always have power. On the dim display. This is a common problem. There are electrolytic capacitors on the control board and they fail over time. Often replacing them will fix the board. |
