The dishwasher worked great until just recently. All of the buttons on the control panel illuminate properly except the start button. It blinks ... I push the button and it quits blinking and stays on only for a few seconds... then begins blinking again. The dishwasher never engages during the process.
Any ideas? I appreciate the help.

Here are your parts Parts for Maytag MDB7709AWQ2 Dishwasher - AppliancePartsPros.comBelow is a link to a data sheet Download MDB7709.pdfUnclick the use our down loader and then use the grey download button. Otherwise you may end up with software on your computer that you do not want. I am assuming that you have already turned power off to the unit to see if it will reset. As you can see a blinking light is often a shorted key. Check the key outputs from the keypad with a meter, to see if it is OK. If OK then I would replace the control board. Still not a guaranteed to fix the problem but your odds are better. |

Same thing with my dishwasher. What ended up being your issue? I keep putting off calling a repairman thinking I can figure it out. TIA

Sorry for the delay in responding, but a new control board fixed the issue. It was also very easy to replace, in case you were having any reservations about attempting the repair.

Ours turned out to be a stuck button on the control panel. The guy told us he thought it could be two different things and neither were a cheap fix. He was going to start with one (around $150) and see if that worked and then go to the other (also about $150)....called the appliance parts place and luckily for me...they were out of both so he said he would try "one more thing" and it turned out to be a stuck button! So basically the whole thing ended up costing me a $75 service call on a Saturday. I felt pretty lucky! Thanks for your response!:)
