I put a new defrost timer in from appliace pro and it dose not work. I checked it before I put it in with an omh meter I got nothing--is it bad?

It runs like a clock. When it gets to defrost it will show continuity.

it dose not run at all. I put it on defrost it stays there. The tenants food went bad.
