The electric dryer was getting too hot and seemed the heater was not turning off. Accessed the tech sheet and ran test#4. I checked the resistance between P4-3 and P4-6 and measured 5-6 Kohms, which told me to replace the control electronics. I ordered a new board and in the meantime, the dryer quit turning on. I replaced the control electronics. Everything comes on but when you hit the start button, I hear a click and the motor does not come on. I ran a diagnostic test but no error codes come up. Advice???

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool WED9400SU0 Dryer - AppliancePartsPros.comSounds like the thermal fuse (item 9 in section 03) on the blower. Check it with your meter. Since that heater was not turning off I would also check it for grounding. Unplug the unit and both wires from the heating coil. Measure across it, should be around 8 to 12 ohms. Then measure from each side to the case/frame, both should be infinite ohms. If not the heater is grounded and the control board cannot regulate it's temperature. |
