There is a whole in the hose. I put tape on the hose. I think I am supposed to get a new hose but all the stores are closed right now.

Could this be the cause of why my refrigerator has been warm. If I replace the hose will this fix the whole problem - does not seem likely but just want to check if I need service on my GE refrigerator as it has been warm all week. 50 degrees in refrig 22 in freezer.

I was going to shut the water line but I am not sure which of the knobs in basement is the water line

For now I have buckets out

any help appreciated

For your cooling problem check to see if the coils behind the back cover in the freezer are ice up. You may have a defrost problem.

See if you have a water cut off behind the fridge where the water comes in or under the sink where most are connected.

Do you think that these 2 problems are related.

I am going to fix the hose when I get home from work.

First I will turn off the water valve and then take out the broken hose, then buy a new one and put it where the broken one is now. Is this correct?

My refrigrerator and freezer have been stuck at 50 and 22 degrees for the past 4 days.

I do have GE coming tommorow but it is out of warranty. Do you think that if I replace the hose that the temperatures will return to normal. If they will it would save me a lot by not having to pay GE for service.

No, the hose leaking would not affect the cooling.
