My Roper dryer won't start. My wife had just finished drying a load and put another load in to dry and it wouldn't start. When you turn the timer to a setting you do hear some clicks but it won't start up.
I turned the timer on around, when it got to the fluff setting it did come on. When I took my hand off of the timer it kinda clicked back a notch maybe and stopped. It would repeat this action but only on fluff setting.
I haven't tested anything yet.
What should I check first?
Thanks!

Here are your parts Parts for Roper RES6745PQ0 Dryer - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the wiring diagram. Since the unit will start in air fluff the start switch, motor and thermal fuse are OK. Sounds like a timer problem. Set the timer to a problem area. Unplug the unit. Check BK to BU on the timer, should be 0 ohms. Check T to W, should be 0 ohms. It is a good idea to disconnect one side of the contact set you are checking. This ensures that you do not read an alternate/parallel circuit path. Also use the most sensitive meter scale and short the meter leads together before starting. This will tell you if there is a zero offset in the meter. |
