Yes, while in the wash cycle, once the timer gets to the aggitation cycle it does not agitate, the timer will continue and will begin drain and spin cycles. It will only aggitate in the extra rinse bedding cycle.

Aggitation works in wash and rinse in the Heavy Duty cycle only (bedding cycle). It does not work in the Normal, Delicate, Casual or Hand Wash cycles.

Motor low speed function is not working. Could be the timer, motor switch, or wiring issue. Remove the cabinet and check the condition of the orange wire at the motor connector. Tug on the wire to see if it is broken loose. Unplug the connector and check pins for burning or corrosion. Do you have a multimeter to make continuity checks?

Unplug connector at motor. Check continuity on motor switch between orange terminal and blue terminal. Should be zero (0.0) ohms. If good, with washer on in agitate mode and washer has stopped filling and should be agitating, check for 120 volts AC between orange wire and ground (green/yellow wire)(lid switch must be bypassed with cabinet off). If not there. check at orange wire on timer connector. If not there, timer is bad. If you have 120vac at motor connector orange wire, the motor switch is faulty. You can remove the screw and pull the switch away from motor and remove switch cover to check and possibly clean the contacts.

Eric,
Just got back on this, been working alot. Continuity at the motor switch is 0.0. Please verify how to bypass lid switch so voltage can be checked. Is the washer to be filled and ran normally without the cabinet in place. Does the connector assembly need to be removed from the motor in order to remove the cover and view the contacts. I did notice that the connector plug was slightly brown at the orange wire, is this normal.

Eric,
I got the cabinet back on and everything re-assembled, put the washer on the regular wash cycle and now it aggitates. What do you think about that.

Here's how to bypass the lid switch
Lid switch bypassing Whirlpool direct drive washer - YouTube

You must remove the screw that holds the switch on in order to remove the cover. Discoloration at connector means it's getting hot which could be a bad connection at the wire terminal. Unplug the connector and look at the orange wire terminal for burning/corrosion. Yes, run washer as normal with cabinet off.

You posted while I was composing. I think you still have a problem that needs to be addressed. Bad connection somewhere with the orange wire, either at the motor (most likely) or the timer.
