The hinges on my Whirlpool oven door are hyper extended. I've ordered new hinges Part # 98017875, disassembled the oven door and removed the old hinges. I can not get the new hinges open to insert in to the slots of the oven door. Does any one know how to open the hinges or if I need a special tool to open the hinges and keep the open during assembly?

Hi.

You can use a pair of large channel locks , or a wise-grips to open the hinge, then insert a small pin into the hole to lock it open. When you install the door, open it all the way and remove the pins.
