Hello, my name is Brandon and im having a problem with my GE dryer.. Last night it worked perfectly normal.. The next time we used it a few hours later it would not turn on.. Since then i have checked the breaker, tested the plug on the wall, i took the switch panel off the front of the dryer and tested the switches, i got a 120 reading on the switches.. I checked the continual output when i turned the start switch off and on and it also has power.. I have tried the dryer on many different settings and it doesnt work for any of them.. I called GE and all they could tell me was that one of my switch modules could be bad.. Do you have any ideas/suggestions??? i would greatly appreciate the help!!! Thank you for your time!

Hi, Brandon. You need to check several things. First - the belt, then the belt switch or idler spring switch ,located at the bottom in the left corner. Then there is the thermal hi-limit thermostat, located on the right side top of the heating element housing with two brown wires. Check the switch and the thermostat for continuity using the multimeter. Here are the breakdown diagrams and Backsplash, Blower & Motor Assembly parts for GE DWSR483EB0WW - AppliancePartsPros.comPost the results. Simon.

Simon, Thank you for your responce to my son concerning our dryer. Last month it was the stove ... which Denman pointed us in the right direction. When it rain's it pour's as they say ... We had replaced the drum guides about a year ago. Why it took that long to cut one of the ill routed door switch wire's in half , but that's what he traced the problem back to when he went to "jump" the switch .... Thanks again, you guys are great ! Charlie ...
