I have a Kenmore refrigerator (no freezer) that is not cooling.
A little over 5 years old, I bought new.
- both fans are working
- the compressor is running, or at least I think it is, because it is getting hot. Although i can't hear the compressor clicking on, I don't really know what it should sound like.
- ohms between the three posts on the compesser vary between 7 and 13.
- I replaced the start relay thinking that might be the problem, it wasn't.
- fridge is fairly clean no obvious problems.
- it doesn't have a freezer so ice build up isnt the problem

If the compressor motor is hot does that mean it is working?
Any ideas before I call the pros?

Thanks for any help.

Hi Jason,

You should feel a vibration when you touch the compressor.

What is the complete model number of the refrigerator?

Gene.
