Charles,

I hope the instructions in the Service manual (pages 4-19 & 4-20) will help you.

Gene.

I installed the new handle for the Kitchenaid KHMS155LSS0. I have the stainless steel model.

The instructions on the forum were a little hard for me to get so I figure I would post pictures to help the next guy out.

The outside of the door that the stainless steel is attached to actually has little hook claws that grab onto the inner black part of the door.

Check out the pictures:

Take the 3 little screws out of the side.

Then you need to pry the outside of the door from the inside of the door. The outside kind of snaps over the inside and stays in place with the little claws that snap into the holes.

I suggest using a butter knife to pry the outside up from the inside part a little then use a wooden paint stirrer or wooden shim to really pry it up and off. Using wood keeps you from marring the plastic. You have to get the hooks on the outside door up and over the holes on the inside part of the door. Do it one at a time and the door will come apart fairly easy.

After you done your work with installing the handle or whatever your doing, you can just shut the inside part of the door onto the main part of the microwave. After I did that, I just snapped the outside part back on.

Hope this helps someone else out there on the internets!

I have KitchenAid KHMS147KSS with a broken handle. I followed the instructions on how to remove #2 and was successful to get it removed without breaking it. But the frustration came after that when i could not find any screws which hold the handle. They are obviously behind #4. And i was not able to even slightly shake it, it stays solid. Are there any ideas? it becomes really frustrated.
Thanks,
Yakov

Looks like you have to remove the outer door panel (#10) too as shown on the above pictures posted by ianfranklin.

It actually did not come to frustration - I fixed it.
Thank you.

After removing part# 1805 there is only access to the upper handle screw. The lower screw is behind a second inner panel. I removed the 6 screws from this inner panel, but I can't get it to budge. It seems like a lot of people don't have access to the 2nd(lower) screw. The advice I keep seeing is to look at the video (to remove the inner panel) which does not solve the problem. Any further input from the kind experts would be appreciated.

I'm having the same problem. The bottom screw is not accessible without removing #4. I tried this by removing the half dozen little screws that appeared to be holding it in, but it didn't budge. I don't want to break anything so help would be appreciated. It's hard to see but it looks like the plastic things that were holding the [lastic liner that I removed to start may also be holding #4. If that is true, should the half dozen screws I mentioned also be removed or do they hold something else?

I too have a broken handle. It is broken at the top screw, which I can see from the back. The bottom screw is hidden. I would imagine the repair is similar, but I can't get the frame off. Any suggestions?

The video clip on the second page of this thread might help.
