The light that tells the oven temp has been getting fainter and fainter over the last few years. The range still works very well but we are almost unable to detect the temperature setting unless the house is very dark! Is this a major repair or just a matter of unscrewing the oven door and popping in a new light? (wishful thinking). i'd appreciate anyone's input. thanks.

If the clock display dimmed then the correction is to replace the clock.

- The part number for the clock is AP2591902

i appreciate the info about replacing the clock in my oven. is this something a professional needs to do or could my (reasonably handy with tools) husband do it? again, thanks for the info.

This part is not too difficult to replace yourself. Pull the range out of the wall and remove the back control panel cover.
