I have a 15+ year old GE Monogram 42" side by side built in refrigerator model #ZISW42EMB that over the last few weeks is showing Error FF on the freezer door information panel. Usually it goes away in several hours or if I power off/on the refrigerator. I vacuumed the dust from the condenser and surrounding parts. The freezer is still cold enough. Also, the Warm Temperature light comes on for a bit but not as long as Error FF.

It appears the condenser fan runs more often than in the past.

Any suggestions would be great.

thanks

Hi.

Check the temperature in both : freezer and fresh food.
Check the air flow at the damper control.See if it's open enough.

Thank you.

Simon.

Now I'm getting a CC error in additional to the FF error. The refrigerator is cold but the freezer is warmer. I have the temperature dial in the freezer set to 9. If I unplug the power for a few minutes the error messages go away for a while but return shortly.

thanks

Hi.

If both evaporator and condenser motors are running and the condenser is clean I recommend you to call the service co. It may be a sealed system problem.

Thank you.

I've contacted a technical from GE to come and take a look.

I cannot find the Damper control to check airflow. Can you tell me where to look on parts diagram, Replacement parts for General Electric ZISW42EMB Refrigerator | AppliancePartsPros.com?

Also, i want to take the panel off in the freezer to check the coils for frost. Is their a service manual to help me understand the best way to do this?

thanks

Hi.

The damper control is #216 on the diag.#5.

The sealed unit breakdown is in diag.#5.
