Remove the ice bin. Tape the light switch in closed position. Push the ice release lever on the dispenser and see if the auger motor (#369 on the diagram) will work. Check if the ice door in the dispenser opens. Post the results. Gene.

John,
I'm afraid I did not get clear what exactly is wrong - the ice maker does not make ice or the dispenser does not dispense it?

If the ice maker in your refrigerator has a green LED status light then make sure the "on-off" switch on the ice maker is "on".
If the green LED status light is blinking then the ice maker is bad and has to be replaced.
If the green LED is "on" then check the water feeding tube into the ice maker for frost or ice inside. Post the results.
Gene.

Looks like the ice maker has gone bad. There was a lot of problems with these electronic ice makers and GE recently introduced a newly designed electromechanical ice maker. - The part number for the ice maker is AP4345120Gene.

If the LED is "off" with the power switch "on" then the ice maker has to be replaced. This ice maker has an electronic control board inside, which probably got damaged due to a power surge. Other parts, like the water valve, are not that sensitive and hopefully are not damaged.
