My Whirlpool gas dryer will not work when pushing start. I have checked power coming in, door switch, and thermal fuse. I am wondering if it could be the timer. When checking W (white wire) and T (tan wire) coming into the timer on the back of the dryer with those wires disconnected from timer and dryer unplugged I get no reading except (L open). Shouldn't that be reading atleast 0.00 or something. Please help ...the timer is $100 and not sure how else to test it or maybe jump it to check to see if that is it.

Thank you Simon, It was the timer. To double check, we jumped as per your suggestion and then were sure that was it. Ordered the part from Appliance Pros (since local supplier was on backorder) installed this morning and dryer is running great!
