compressor resistance is 0 between all terminals
and infinity to ground all terminals

If the compressor starts and vibrates, then shuts off, if there is still 115 volts to it, you have a bad compressor.

Bought another start device from repair ************.
pluged it in and all is fine.
Must have been a bad part I got from appliance pros or wrong application.

This site has had problems with Maytag replacement parts, probably data problem. You are lucky you didn't burn out the compressor.
