The evap coil is not frosted up and my full model # is FRS23LH5DQ8 It's a Frigidaire Side by Side. Built in 2004

Gene. Thanks for all your guidance. It's worth a try if I can fully understand the directions. Came home tonight and found the unit is colder than it was this morning and their is some ice hanging off some of the stuff in the freezer. The frig seems colder too. The blue lights at the top just flash on and off and stay off. The 3 Beeps followed by a straight tone for a few minutes is still there. Any idea what this mean ? The unit seems to be cycling off and on....what does this mean ? I'll let you know how it went........Thanks, Nascarfan-24;)

Hi,
I have an Amana AFF2534FES1 over/under french door unit that has the problem of icing in the freezer causing the refrigerator to be warm. We have fixed it once using the hair dryer solution, but I can see ice forming again so it is time to fix it correctly. We called a repairman who quoted a price on replacing a logic board. It was not a happy price and I am capable of troubleshooting the problem myself so I'd like to save some money. Can you please point me to the test procedures needed to figure out what component(s) needs to be replaced please?

Hi Bob, Before replacing the control board you have to check the defrost thermostat and the defrost heater (#14 & #10 at the diagram) for continuity. Replace the control board only if both of these parts are good. - The defrost thermostat Part number: W10165425

Aloha Gene,
I sure am glad I was referred to this site-your info is great and gives me hope I may be able to fix the fridge! My fridge is a Kenmore model # 25370752404. The freezer works great and does not seem to have frost buildup on the back freezer panel. The fridge however is not cold. I would say it is somewhat cool, but not cold enough to keep things fresh. I cant tell for sure whether the fan is running because I'm not sure what to look for, although the freezer does seem to blow out cold air from vents whereas the fridge does not seem to have air blowing around at all. Here are my specific questions:
1. What do you think may be the problem?
2. I couldnt find the diagram to this fridge in order to begin my process of elimination in order to diagnose the problem following your instructions-can you locate it?
