The ice maker quit working on this 20+year old GE refrig. The water dispenser in the door works fine. To check to see if it is the water valve, I disconnected the 2 lines to see if I could swap them out. Unfortunately, they are of different size so there was no way to test. I see where I could check the fill line to see if it is frozen. How do I go about doing that. Are there any instructions posted anywhere?
Aside from the valve or the fill line, is there anything else I should look at?
Thanks for the help!

Hi.
You can check the water line by blowing in to it from the back of the fridge. If you feel OK to work with life electricity you can make a direct test cord by attaching two female contacts to the power cord, connecting them to the water valve solenoid and plug the test cord into the outlet for 3 seconds. You also may run the continuity test of the solenoid.
To get you the part numbers we need the complete model number. You may find it at the bottom right corner behind the toe grill.
Thank you. Post the results.
Simon.
