My washer timer will not cycle and the only function it will perform is the spin. Even if I advance the dial to another setting it will not work even though the light comes on. Thanks for your help! Brian

It's a rarity these Kingston timers go bad, particularly if the washer will not work on any cycle. I would check the water level switch and the lid switch. You will need an ohmeter to check.

I just found that out, got a working timer and did not solve the problem. I filled the tub with water and it started working, until I moved the water level switch past the water in the tub. As soon as I drop back down it works. I also checked the hot and cold fill valve and they both open and close. My next step it to check the water temp selector swith. How would I check the water level switch or temp selector switch? Thanks for the help!

Seems like your water level switch is bad. Trace the hose that is plugged into it to the bottom of the tub. Remove it and blow into it. The switch should click. Then put it back on the tub bowl and see if your wssher will work now. If not, replace the switch.

Your message 1 My washer timer will not cycle and the only function it will perform is the spin. Even if I advance the dial to another setting it will not work even though the light comes on.Your message 2 I just found that out, got a working timer and did not solve the problem. I filled the tub with water and it started working, I thought is was not working at all before the timer replacement? until I moved the water level switch past the water in the tub. As soon as I drop back down it works. Not sure why you would do this as the unit was working. Did you go to Reset before putting in the new water level. See the operators manual http://shared.whirlpoolc...iterature/LAT4915AAE.pdfI must be missing something!!! |

I blew into the tube at the bottom of the tub and heard a click. Did as you said and replace the tube and tried again, still did not work. I also removed the tube from the switch blew into it with the washer on and it started to agitat. I can get a new switch but don't understand why that is the problem.
