washer fills with no problem but as soon as the machine begins to agitate it begins leaking water all around base of machine.any help will be really appreciated.

Are you saying that it leaks were the transmission goes into the tub? If so the tub seal is bad. Maytag Tub Seal Replacement page gives detailed instructions on how to replace the tub seal.
