We just installed the dishwasher and filled it for the first time and ran the dishwasher. We noticed it did not clean and there was still detergent in the dishwasher. We tried again and the cleaning light is now blinking. I looked at the manual and it says to call for service! We haven't used it once yet!! Is there some things I can check before calling for service?

Call for service and don't do anything. The clean light is flashing an error code that the tech can use to diagnose the problem. If you watch the light, it will flash a number of times, pause, then flash a second number, and will keep doing it. If you post the number of flashes you see, we can give you something to look at, but in the mean time, call for service. It may be a simple failure like a wire that came off, but it is best you let the warranty service do the work.

This is a heat error that can be caused by several things, but if you found detergent still in the tub, I would suspect the pump is not working, or water isn't even entering the tub. It is possible the wiring to the pump or the capacitor mounted to the pump motor came loose and now the pump will not operate. Or the water is not turned on to the unit, or one of the wires to the fill valve was cut when the junction box was put on preventing water from entering the tub. If you are going to take a look at it, start with something that may have happened during installation as that would be the logical cause of the problem. Once you find anything (assuming you do) the board will need to be reset by pressing the keys HEATED DRY - NORMAL - HEATED DRY - then NORMAL again in sequence within 5 seconds. All the lights should come on and it will begin a diagnostic cycle. Either let it run, or press cancel and the board will be reset so you can try a wash again.

Thanks. It reset and I have run a few different cylcles, but each time the dishes are not coming clean and some detergent is left. The clean light has not come back on flashing, but still no clean dishes.

I tried running the rinse cycle for a bit and then opened the dishwahser to see if water was in and where and it was about an inch below the heating element.
