My dryer stopped on its own. Next time I went to use it won't start just beeps. I replaced door switch now my light comes on when I open door, but I just get beeped at. Dryer doesn't start. I ran diagnostic test and get no error codes.

Hi.
Most likely the problem is a bad thermal fuse, located on the top of the blower housing behind the lower front panel. Using the ohmmeter check the fuse for continuity (with one wire taken off). No continuity - replace the fuse.

The fuse Part number: AP3133489
Part number: AP3133489

Post the result.

Before I replaced the door switch I connected the two fuse wires together and that didn't make the dryer start. I don't have the meter so I was trying to by pass the fuse. I replaced the switch should I try jumping the fuse again. I don't want to keep purchasing parts. I had a pair of tennis shoes in the dryer and they kept making the door open. So I had put a brace in front of the door to keep it shut. From what I have read if it wasn't the door switch I probably killed the control panel. Guess I need to go by a meter. Do I check this fuse with the electric plugged in? Don't want to get zapped. tks for reply

Hi.
Disconnect the power to the dryer before running test.

Hi.
Me again. Get the meter and check two things in addition. First check if the belt switch is good and the belt is OK, then go to the control panel and with dryer plugged in check for 120v between P1-2 and P1-3 (door closed) at the control board. After you check the door switch, the belt switch, the belt, and fuse post the results.
