so my tweeks have now worked for 7-8 months. adding the heat diffusers and the resistor in series to the thermostat to change the shut off temperature of the defrost cycle. have not had to unplug the fridge for 3 days to defrost it in all that time.

if you are logged in you can see the photos i made in the posts.

I have a Samsung Model # RB215LASH Single door fridge. The Freezer worked but the fridge was uneven. I took the shelves out and unscrewed six screws holding on the back panel to expose the condensor coil. You must unclip a couple of quick connectors also. It was packed with ice. I used a hair blow dryer and melted the ice, put everything back together and it works great, without the fan laboring to overcome an ice dam. I am not sure why I had the ice problem. Maybe the defrost mechanism isnt working.

Buck

Sounds like it could be a defrost problem.
Here is the service manual for your model. There is a great diagnostic section in the service manual that will show you how to test the defrost system.

this will be my last update unless there is a future problem, but it is now 10 months and not one coil freeze up. so my resister change and adding heat diffusion works and did not make a new and of life problem. so my fridge that was freezing up about every 3-4 weeks for no reason no longer has the block of ice problem.

Ok so I seem to be having the same problems with my rf267abrs fridge. Where can I get the parts list and how do I do these tests that people are talking about in this thread.

Thanks

Thanks all! Warm fridge, cold freezer. Lost about $150 in groceries, Grrrr!

Took it apart, figuring I would be without a fridge for a few days. Turns out it was the thermal fuse. I shorted it out, and it seems to be working. Some of the fan testing was uncertain (didn't turn on when I pressed the door switch, but now I realize I might not have waited long enough, or I might have 'jostled' the fan in to working while I was diagnosing).

With the cost of groceries and shipping, I'll just replace the fan as well.

Really appreciate everyone's help! I got a working fridge within about 2 hours!

I have a RS267TDRS side by side. The frig side is not cooling properly. After some diagnostic trials with support person at Samsung we had a repair guy come out and check it and said the control board was bad. He left and ordered a new control board. In the mean time, after a day or so we noticed the refrigerator was now working properly. We opted to still have him install the new control board so we wouldn't have the same problem again. He installed the new board and everything continued to run okay (for about a week and a half) until today...

Same problem today. Refrigerator is warm while the freezer still works fine. After doing some research I removed the cover in the refrigerator to see if it was frozen up. It wasn't.

Not sure where to go with this now. Its evident the new control board wasn't needed.

Could the issue be the thermistor or the thermal fuse?

The inconvenient issue is that it the 4th of July and no one is working now until Monday (3 days from now) and we have a house full of guests!.

Newbie here.

I have the RS265TDRS and it has issues. The unit is 18 months old and the fridge side is near 60 degrees while the freezer side is where it always is. My 1 year warranty is up, but my 5 year sealed warranty is in tact. I called Samsung and the lady on the phone was very helpful, and I now have a service appointment. Do you guys think its a covered issue or should I cancel my appt and attempt a repair on my own?

After having our Frig go out again and start back up after about 24 hours it continued to run okay for about 4 days. We heard from the repair guy and after saying he was going to order a fan for it he did some more research and found a service bulletin (I think he called it) that directed him to look at the wiring to the fan in the frig. He came out and did that. Evidently he found something but my wife didn't know what he did. So, we'll see if it keeps working or not. Perhaps your issue will be similar, at least its a place to start.

I will say that when I took off the fan shroud in the Frig I didn't see any problem with the wiring, so I'm not sure what he did.

Hope that helps.
