The light is out on the control board for the temp setting for the refrigerator--the one for the freezer is still on. When I press the refrigerator setting button, it beeps but no light shows. Will the temp setting still work properly? Is it just a matter of not seeing the little green light to tell me what number it's set on or can this actually affect the cooling system?. thanks so much for any help

It could be either one of the above. Get a fridge thermometer and measure the temperature in the fresh food section on a middle shelf. It should be around 40 degrees F. Then raise it or lower it to see if the actual control works. Give it at least 8 hours before rechecking it. That will tell you if the control still works.
Have you tried unplugging the unit for 5 minutes or so to see if it will reset? |

Have you tried unplugging the unit for 5 minutes or so to see if it will reset? Thanks for the response. Unplugging hasnt helped. I have a thermometer in the fridge, and it wont get off 43-44 deg. I pressed the fridge temp control button and rechecked the next day, still same temp. There is some frost on the back panel in the freezer-I defrosted the coils and less than 24 hrs later, the frost was on the panel again. Does the board affect the defrost system too? I was hoping that it was just a burnt bulb since the little green indicator light was out-it still beeps when u press the button to adjust the temp, but the temp doesnt change. thanks again
